In the wake of new revelations regarding how former IRS official Lois Lerner coordinated with liberal advocacy groups and members of Congress to release the details of the tax-exemption applications of conservative groups, MSNBC host Alex Wagner charged that the victim and victimizer roles in this investigation have been turned on their heads. She said that the IRS is the real group that has been targeted in this affair.
“There is a controversy here,” Wagner conceded. She said, however, that the true controversy in the IRS scandal involves the influence of outside money. [...]
“In my mind, the IRS, who was trying to get this out, they were the ones that have been actually targeted in this whole investigation,” Wagner asserted.
