Mr. President, You Lie

This month Harper Collins published the latest book by investigative journalist, essayist, novelist, frequent American Thinker contributor Jack Cashill, You Lie! The Evasions, Omissions, Fabrications, Frauds, and Outright Falsehoods of Barack Obama, a thorough dissection of Obama lies and perfidy with 259 pages of text and 22 pages of endnotes.
Jack Cashill is a fearless and effective advocate for traditional values and constitutional sensible government, who persuades with intelligent writing and in depth impeccable research.  He has been involved in a multi-year effort to expose Barack Obama as an exceptionally incompetent and misguided, even malicious man.
I recommend this latest book You Lie, as a product of Jack’s exceptional efforts to expose the fraud and deceptions of Barack Obama.
Jack’s research many years ago uncovered the fact that Bill Ayers was the real author of the much-acclaimed book, supposedly written by Obama, Dreams from My Father (1995).  Much of Cashill’s research on the literary fraud appeared in American Thinker postings and was the result of Cashill’s professional expertise as an editor, and his use of editing and literature style computer analysis tool to compare Dreams, supposedly by Obama, to Bill Ayers' biographical book, Fugitive Days (2001).
Cashill made a compelling, convincing case for Ayers role as the ghostwriter of Dreams, a book that the left asserted was proof of Obama’s heft and intellectual superiority.  Cashill also looked at all of Obama’s writings from high school, college, law school, even his submissions to the Hyde Park Newspaper after he was ensconced as a Lecturer in Constitutional Law at University of Chicago Law School, one of the premier law schools in the nation for the usual reason Obama got anything -- his color.  At the University of Chicago he was minimally adequate and not a scholar, but he was black and they had a paucity of black faculty.  For the Hyde Park paper, in a south Chicago neighborhood, he wrote regular essays, but he was not only pedestrian, he was, by any measure marginally literate, ungrammatical and clumsy, not the lucid and eloquent writer of Dreams.
In 2011 Cashill reviewed and summarized his research on the Obama myth and deceptions in the book Deconstructing Obama: The Life Loves, and Letters of America’s First Postmodern President
American Thinker editor Thomas Lifson wrote, in a cover blurb “important book, one that unravels significant parts of the fabric of Barack Obama’s contrived and closely guarded personal history. . . Cashill convincingly demonstrates that the claimed authorship of Dreams is a fraud . . . the media did everything in their power to discredit and relegate Cashill’s first-rate detective work to obscurity and opprobrium. . . This book is a chance for readers to get the real story now.”
Jack Cashill has always been one of my heroes, because he exposed a terrible wrong, affirmative action, that produces an incompetent and even malignant President.  Cashill is a courageous and accomplished writer who has exposed a political tragedy for the USA in the making a president who is a product of the silly project of affirmative action, but Obama doesn’t know it because he is a successful sociopath.   He is almost like a blind Manchurian Candidate.  Cashill made a good case for the nightmare Manchurian Candidate riding along on a racialist myth.  Jack’s essays at his web site and in the archive at American Thinker are insightful and informative, as well as his personal appearances, lectures, editorial and media production work and books.
Eric Hoffer in his outstanding first book The True Believer (1951) explains some elements of the Obama phenomenon and Obama himself.  Why he lies, why the lies don’t seem to matter.
For men to plunge headlong into an undertaking of vast change they must be intensely discontented yet not destitute, and they must have the feeling that they possess some potent doctrine, infallible leader or some new technique and they have access to a source of irresistible power.  The must also have an extravagant conception of the prospects and potentialities of the future. Finally they must be wholly ignorant of the difficulties involved in their vast undertaking.  Experience is a handicap.
In You Lie 13 chapters catalogue the betrayals, deceptions and lies fueled by political considerations and personality disordered conduct that prompted Joe Wilson to say “You Lie” from the floor of the Chamber at the State of the Union Speech.  Joe was right.
Jack Cashill documents what is a record of extraordinary mendacity.   Obama is a revolutionary and his hope and change and tyrannical deceptive deceitful behavior were in sharp contrast to the goods sold on the campaign trail.  He obviously never intended to be open with the citizens, or bring the races together, or encourage bipartisanship -- he is inclined to be a hard line ideologue. Joseph Schumpeter was prescient when he said “The first casualty of ideology is the truth.”  Obama didn’t tell us his real agenda when he was running for president with his very thin portfolio, just as he never revealed the truth about his past, his friends, and his political credo.
Obama was a hard line socialist committed to the long-term socialist project of destroying capitalism -- but he posed as a healer, a uniter, a sophisticated and measured statesman.  Saul Alinsky was his mentor and would have been proud. Then after he was elected, Obama revealed himself and his hard line racialist leftist agenda and encouraged his followers to do the same.  Cashill reminds us of the revealing encounter Obama had with Joe the Plumber when he advocated for redistribution of wealth.  He was off teleprompter and revealed his attitudes.
However, Obama has always had the wind at his back even when deceitful because of race -- the gale force chattering class affection for utopian socialist ideas and the post-modernist disregard for truth and the socialist war game attitude that the ends justify the means.  To trick people on the campaign trail knowing they would never vote for your agenda, and then ratchet up the aggressive actions that contradict the promises made is what makes the scenario a target-rich environment for an investigative journalist like Jack Cashill.  Politicians rarely are so deceitful in such a malignant way as Barack Obama.
When Obama got the reins of power, constitutional constraints and proper government process  went immediately out the door -- czars, recess appointments, bullying congress, nullifying immigration laws, jawboning the Congress and the Supreme Court, executive orders all created the appearance and the anxiety provoking-appearance of tyranny.  Crony capitalism and political correctness are the sequelae to tyranny and bullying.  Most people are reflexly sheeple.
Lies, cover ups and deceptions were standard strategies in reaction to the investigation and objections on IRS, EPA, DOJ, and State Department misconduct.
His foreign policy has often included saying one thing and doing another -- for example promising his support for Israel and then systematically violating the promise; enabling Muslim aggression and terrorist organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood; failure to contain Iranian ambitions; pretending to do something about a threat but pulling punches.
The last chapter of Mr. Cashill’s book lists the top 25 lies, and here are just a few examples.
  • You can keep your doctor.  Period.  There will be no mandate, you can keep your insurance.
  • This administration has done more for the security of the state of Israel than any previous administration.
  • We need to close the revolving door that lets lobbyists come into the government freely.
  • Transparency and the rule of Law will be the touchstones of this presidency.
  • His Presidential Oath of Office (the big lie).  I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will execute the Office of President of the United States faithfully, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.  So help me God.
It’s never too late to learn and Jack Cashill is a good teacher, wonderful researcher and lucid, fluid writer, easy to read and like.
One of Jack’s great books was What’s the Matter with California (2007), describing some of the zaniness of California that was premonitory.  Characters and events and bizarre connections -- for example the Hollywood/Charlie Manson/Music connection or the Jim Jones power position in San Francisco politics before he took his commune/congregation to South America where they committed mass suicide.
Jack is, like all good writers and investigative journalists, a treasure, and a winsome, charming one at that.
John Fund of National Review and American Spectator said, “Jack Cashill’s book comes at just the right time, as the truth is finally catching up with Barack Obama’s Hype. Historians will look back in astonishment at how an acolyte of the ends-justify-the-means Saul Alinsky and the product of the Chicago Daley machine seduced the media and much of the public into trusting him with the presidency.”
David Horowitz said, “Obama is the most brazen liar ever to occupy the White House.. Jack Cashill has had the stomach to go through the nauseating record so the usual voices of denial will have a hard time actually denying it.”
Herb Meyer, former vice chair of the CIA National Intelligence Council said “Tomorrow or next year, or sometime later this century the truth about Barack Obama will trickle out.  And when that happens Barack Obamas will be exposed as a myth.  And Jack Cashill will get the recognition he deserves as the best investigative journalist of our time.”
