Exposing Warren and Biden

AT editors have done a great job of presenting articles that expose Hillary Clinton's fecklessness, greed, SecState shenanigans, and unelectability.  Articles by Thomas Lifson (here, here, and here) and J.R. Dunn illustrate that fact.  Even that bastion of liberalism (and an arm of the Democrat party) the New York Times has gotten in on the "Hillary Bashing."

OK, Hillary has been bashed (exposed?), and the Republican presidential candidate (whomever he or she may be) has lots of ammunition to use.  So now it's time to move on to expose two other potential Democrat candidates: Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden.  In fact, Mr. Lifson took the initial steps toward those actions by recognizing that Hillary is slumping in the polls, that Joe Biden could be nominated, and that Obama wants Elizabeth Warren to run.

So, without further ado, let me get the "exposure" ball rolling.

Joe Biden

• In 2007, he voted for the Iraq war, even though Democrats were delirious with rage about it. Biden then tried to appease Democrats by ripping the GOP, saying that President Bush was incompetent, had no war plan, and that weapons of mass destruction didn't exist.
• He can't keep his hands off women. As Byron York wrote:

... in today's society, sexual harassment complaints have been lodged for less.  Biden's behavior gives critics plenty of ammunition and puts supporters in a difficult position.

Here's more exposure. In 1994, Biden authored the Violence Against Women Act.  But in 2014, at a women's leadership event, Biden praised former Senator Bob Packwood who resigned amid sexual harassment allegations.

• Electing Biden would effectively be Obama's third term. Regarding Obama's reign, Biden said, "I call it sticking with what works." "Run on what we have done. Own what we have done. Stand for what we have done. Acknowledge what we have done." "Are we going to continue this resurgence or are we going to return to policies I would argue have failed the country in the past?" He actually said "resurgence."

Biden wants to continue all of Obama's disastrous economic policies:

It wasn't that long ago that even members of my own party were saying our economic path hadn't worked. And they were looking to distance themselves between what the president and I had done and the policies we put in place. I think that would be a terrible mistake.

• Biden favors gun control. He said in October 2014, that "What we need is another Jim Brady, who has the skill and the ability to convince those who are afraid... to step up and do what they know is right." And Biden heads Obama's 'Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.'  Biden said:

It's been 33 days since the nation's heart was broken by the horrific, senseless violence that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School. No one can know for certain if this senseless act could have been prevented, but we all know we have a moral obligation -- a moral obligation -- to do everything in our power to diminish the prospect that something like this could happen again.  I've worked in this field a long time -- in the US Senate, having drafted the last gun violence legislation.

Biden proposed more gun laws, yet offered not one word about enforcing existing laws, laws that may have prevented "the horrific, senseless violence." He said that existing laws don't work. To National Rifle Association director of federal affairs Jim Baker, Biden said: "And to your point, Mr. Baker, regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don't have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately."  As John Hayward says: "For liberals, a 'problem' is 'solved' when the government passes laws and expands its power."

• Regarding illegal immigration, Biden has said that undocumented immigrants are "Already Americans."  He says that illegal immigration will "boost the economy and improve foreign relations," and that "immigration [is] crucial to American innovation." He has even suggested that if Central American countries would raise taxes, illegal immigration would be slowed. He suggested that they pursue their own "tax-and-spend programs" to raise their standards of living. Yeah, tax-and-spend has been successful here.

Green Energy and its Use: In 2011, at a National Clean Energy Summit, Biden said:

If we don't develop renewable energy, we will make the biggest mistake in this nation's history.

• He also criticized clean energy investment opponents, and those who want to defund major R&D and deployment programs. He said, "The President and I are not going to listen to those voices."

Regarding use, in October 2009, Biden said of the Fiscar Car Company $539 million loan: "This is seed money that will return back to the American consumer in billions and billions and billions of dollars in good, new jobs."  Well, that "return" didn't happen. In fact, the Energy Department sold the loan to Richard Li, son of Hong Kong's richest man, for $25 million, who may receive as much as $90 million from the proceeds of Fisker's sale of assets. Meanwhile, U.S. taxpayers lost $139 million.

In April 2012, Biden said of the GOP, "They're emasculating all the efforts to deal with renewable energy. They have no policy."

His mind is made up, he won't listen to facts.  And he wants to continue "investment" in green and/or renewable energy schemes.

• About climate change, Biden this April said that questioning climate change is "almost like denying gravity now. I think it's close to mindless," and that skeptics are stupid. About how climate change is making the world's weather patterns more severe, he continued: "All of a sudden people who were saying it couldn't happen; they're now knowing they have to plan for another one of these storms [Hurricane Sandy], and another and another and another." About carbon, he said: "When the financial institutions begin to price in the cost of carbon for cost of doing business, you know it's reality."

Elizabeth Warren

• She claims to be of and for the middle and working class Americans, but she's clearly one of the 1%. Her net worth in 2012 was somewhere between $3.7 million and $10 million.
• She was the Leo Gottlieb Professor of Law, an endowment contributed by the law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. It's interesting to note that the law firm got, in July 2011, a U.S. District Court judge to dismiss more than $6.5 billion in claims brought by the Bernie Madoff "Ponzi scheme" victims against HSBC. And the last time I looked, HSBC was on Wall Street.

Warren was in the Leo Gottlieb Professor of Law position for almost twenty years, and had no problem accepting the Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton money. She left the position when she was elected to the Senate in 2012.

• She is "Fauxcahontas," claiming to have Native American, specifically Cherokee, ancestors. That claim has been thoroughly debunked. Yet, in May 2012, she said, "You know, I'm proud of my Native American heritage." So we know that she is a liar.
• She is a proponent of more regulations and a larger government. She said that America should be more like Communist China (Her ad compared GDPs and called for more work -- just like Obama's stimulus). As Jonah Goldberg says:

Now, I find many of Warren's proposed solutions -- more regulation, more taxes, more government, etc. -- abhorrent.

• She strongly supports the DREAM Act. In June 2012, she said:

I believe in the Dream Act. When Scott Brown voted against it, he denied the dreams of young people who did nothing wrong and who are trying to get an education or serve in the military. I thought that was wrong. I support the president's recent actions to help these kids.

• About green Energy, Warren called for an end to tax loopholes and subsidies that she says benefits "Big Oil," saying that those billions of dollars "should be used for investment in infrastructure, education, and 'scientific research that could lead to energy breakthroughs'."  She said that 'Big Oil' "sucked down $5 billion in subsidies from the American people." By saying that, she opened the "subsidies" door. Democrats love to misrepresent tax breaks, which are available to all, as "subsidies." 
• About climate change, Warren said that the threat of climate change called for regulations to rein in corporate polluters, and "warned that if corporations are not properly policed, the cost of doing business will be borne by 'children who can't drink the water'."

When running for the Senate in 2012, she said:

The science is unmistakable: Earth's climate is changing and human activities are contributing to climate change. Climate change endangers our health and national security, it threatens agricultural production and access to clean water, and it risks floods and droughts.

Gee, this is easy and fun. The Internet just abounds with "exposures." Concerning Warren, we know what a lying, inexperienced, underqualified first-term senator will do when elected president. Concerning Biden, campaigning against him would be like "shooting fish in a barrel."
