Obama’s Justice Department is already suing North Carolina over the state’s transgender bathroom law and now he’s set his sights on every single school in the country. A letter going out to all public and private schools nationwide, including colleges and universities, threatens lawsuits and funding cuts if they don’t allow trannies to use the bathroom of their choice.
The New York Times got their liberal little hands on an advanced copy of the letter, which is signed by both the Justice and Education Departments. The message is pretty clear: let dudes pee in the ladies room or go to court and lose federal funding.
The Obama administration is planning to issue a sweeping directive telling every public school district in the country to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms that match their gender identity.It does not have the force of law, but it contains an implicit threat: Schools that do not abide by the Obama administration’s interpretation of the law could face lawsuits or a loss of federal aid.
The letter itself is a laugh riot:
A school may not require transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity or to use individual-user facilities when other students are not required to do so.
In addition to letting trannies pick their bathroom, schools are also required to let them be on the sports team of their choice. Seriously, the federal government is telling schools that they can’t stop boys from being cheerleaders or even playing on the girl’s soccer team:
To ensure nondiscrimination on the basis of sex requires schools to provide transgender students equal access to educational programs and activities even in circumstances in which other students, parents, or community members raise objections or concerns. As is consistently recognized in civil rights cases, the desire to accommodate others’ discomfort cannot justify a policy that singles out and disadvantages a particular class of students.
I like the part they added that basically says parents can go f*ck themselves if they disagree.
Hang on, though, because this actually manages to get more ridiculous. Transgender students don’t even have to prove they are trannies. The schools just have to take their word for it:
As soon as a child’s parent or legal guardian asserts a gender identity for the student that “differs from previous representations or records,” the letter says, the child is to be treated accordingly — without any requirement for a medical diagnosis or birth certificate to be produced.
Basically an asshole teenaged pervert can say he’s a tranny so he can shower in the girl’s locker room. This becomes an even more disturbing prospect when you think about it at the college level involving adults.
As if this threatening letter wasn’t already fascist enough, accompanying it will be 25 pages of guidelines for schools to follow.
Just so we are clear on this: The president of the United States is threatening to rob every single child of an education by cutting off funding if schools don’t allow trannies to use bathrooms that don’t correspond with their gender. This seems less like something the leader of a democracy would do and more like the workings of dictatorship.
