IS BEING MUSLIM IN AMERICA HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH? Apparently it is, because Muslims want “Islamophobia” to be considered a public health issue

An Eye Opener

Will the effects of so-called ‘Islamophobia’ (actually justified anti-Muslim backlash) be covered under Obamacare? Not in a Trump administration. However, there is a very simple cure for health issues related to ‘Islamophobia’ – get out of America ASAP.

Dallas News  The unfounded justified hatred of Islam or stigmatization, fear and dislike of Muslims rose to 67% in 2015, the highest it has ever been (Excellent!). Right after 9/11, unfavorable attitudes toward Muslims were at 60%.

In fact, hate speech and petty crimes against Muslims tripled after the San Bernardino and Paris attacks. Muslims have been verbally harassed on college campuses, they have lost jobs, mosques have been vandalized (mainly with graffiti and bacon), Muslim charities have had their assets frozen, and racial profiling has occurred at airports and on the streets. (All good)

But there is an effect of all this that has not been widely reported: the impact on Muslim health.

Simply put, Islamophobia has grave physical and mental health consequences for Muslims in the U.S. It is a public health issue. Yet, research on the health implications of this is understudied and often ignored by the masses. (Because it’s an idiotic idea. Islam is more dangerous to America than Americans are to Muslims)

We, as Americans, can and must do better. (Yes, we must make Muslims feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome in America that they move away permanently)

Unfortunately, Islamophobia is deeply institutionalized. Americans are exposed to political campaigns, news coverage and movies that portray Muslims as outsiders and villains (Reality-based shows). One study found that the coverage of Islam and Muslims in The New York Times was more negative than the coverage of cancer, alcohol and cocaine. (That’s because Muslims are more lethal to Americans than drugs or cancer)

Structural forms of discrimination, forms such as media coverage or political campaigns that call for a ban on Muslims, help normalizediscriminatory protectionist attitudes and create the institutional system of discrimination.

A system of discrimination can lead to differential access to fundamental determinants of health such as education and employment. Moreover, when people are targeted based on their identity, the persistent exposure to discrimination has a pervasive, negative effect on health. Being a victim of Islamophobia can be traumatizing, with severe and lasting health impacts.(Discrimination against your enemies can save your life)

Members of stigmatized groups have greater stress, strained social relationships and unequal access to resources or medical care (So leave!) . Social marginalization increases the physiological response to stress. Discrimination against Muslims has been linked to paranoia, psychological distress and reduced happiness as well as high cholesterol, obesity and other health problems. (Many of those ailments are linked to rampant Muslim inbreeding)

Another study finds that a lack of social support leads to depression for Arab Muslim immigrant women. Islamophobia also prevents Muslims from seeking health care, resulting in more late-stage cancer diagnoses. (Another good thing)

Reversing the trend of Islamophobia in the U.S. will be a long-term (impossible)task. We must better understand how the social climate of Islamophobia takes a toll on the health of Americans. (No, we couldn’t care less) By addressing Islamophobia as a public health issue, we can condemn hateful ideology and actions against Muslims while meeting an objective goal of health as a fundamental human right for all. (Oh, here we go, Muslims always trying to get something for nothing)

Health professionals should be aware of these discriminatory barriers that patients face when receiving care and their own implicit bias when they deliver care (Health professionals should avoid taking Muslim patients, they have been known to attack doctors if they don’t like the diagnosis: SHOCKING STORY GERMANY: Muslim father & brother of patient attack the doctor with a knife, threaten to behead him, and police decide not put the Muslim attackers in jail).

Media coverage should reflect the diversity of the American Muslim population and shift the dialogue away from illness-inducing stereotypes (No, there is truth in stereotypes, that’s why they exist). And lawmakers must realize that policies that single out and discriminate against Muslims make Americans sick. (NO, they don’t, nobody cares if Muslims get sick, unless we have to pay for their healthcare)

This is my country, and the health of this country requires tackling the hatred that causes real health-related harm to Americans.(Stop calling Muslims “Americans.” That is very offensive to real Americans)
