Retail chains boasting of ‘DUMPING TRUMP’ products because of his so-called ‘Muslim ban,’ suffer unintended consequences

Just passing along. I don't watch any Hollywood awards crap or night talk shows or SNL because of there Political Crap. I don't want to watch NASCAR on NBC and have Sharpton come on in a Commercial trying to sell us some Liberal B.S. If these guy lose sales because of there anti Trump B.S. then so be it. I don't go to any of these stores so it won't bother me what ever happens to them. Like the Target and transgender bathroom crap it could hurt there sales I feel for the employees that need the job.

By letting politics dictate their marketing decisions, major retailers are facing massive boycotts from tens of millions of Trump supporters, and some have announced store closings and massive layoffs. Apparently, the list keeps getting longer and longer.

Federalist Papers  (h/t Amil I) On the heels of Nordstrom’s decision they won’t be carrying Ivanka’s fashion line of clothing, Sears and Kmart have announced they won’t be carrying the “Trump Home” line on their website anymore.

“As part of the company’s initiative to optimize its online product assortment, we constantly refine that assortment to focus on our most profitable items,” a Sears Holdings spokesperson told Business Insider.

“Amid that streamlining effort, 31 Trump Home items were among the items removed online this week. Products from the line are still offered online via third-party Marketplace vendors.”

Sears insists the move is not political and that it’s not in response to leftists and their “#GrabYourWallet” campaign, but Nordstrom said the same thing, and Trump supporters didn’t believe them either.

Kmart’s websites no longer sell products from the Trump Home line. Retail giant Kmart  dropped the president’s shoddy goods, citing poor sales. People do not want to be associated with anything bearing a Trump name, as our national embarrassment-in-chief continues his mission to wreck the country with his ill-informed, bigoted, and self-interested agenda.

Last week, Nordstrom officially cut ties with Ivanka Trump’s fashion brand, and her fashion line disappeared from Neiman Marcus’ website. Home Shopping Network stopped selling a Trump Home line of lamps.

Shortly after Nordstrom’s decision, popular brands including Neiman Marcus, Belk, Jet, Gilt, ShopStyle and Shoes.com all stopped selling the first daughter’s line, which marked a major win for the #GrabYourWallet campaign. While boycotters rejoiced the companies’ decision, Rosemary Young, a senior director of marketing, told Business Insider

TJ Maxx and Marshall’s have reportedly made moves signaling the retail chains may be next in line to dump first daughter Ivanka Trump’s line of women’s clothing and accessories. Earlier this month Nordstrom announced that it would no linger carry the Ivanka Trump line of merchandise.

Below is a copy of an email message to TJ Maxx and Marshall’s sent by a BNI reader:

  • To online T.J.Maxx Customer Service
  • MessageTo T.J.Maxx & Marchall’s: For years, both in my home state of La., as well as wherever I travel, I have patronized your stores, even to the point of seeking them out specifically when I don’t know where they are located. In fact, last Christmas at least 90% of ALL my Christmas gifts came from your businesses, especially T.J. Maxx in Vicksburg, Ms. But, due to your very unwise step of removing all TRUMP brands from your businesses you will no longer receive my patronage. It is completely within your rights to sell any brands you choose, as it is my right to vote with my wallet. But when you issue a news announcement to the media to the effect that you are removing the TRUMP brands from your stores you need to remember that in most of the states where your clients spend their $$$ TRUMP won the race for the Presidency. And the announcement to the effect that 80+% of your employees voted for Sanders or Clinton is no shock, considering the workers I see on the floor. I assume that the employees don’t know, or even ask, for whom customers voted, any more than I would ask for whom they cast their vote. So unless you conducted an in-house poll why would you know or care to whom their votes went, or are they such fragile snowflakes in need of ‘safe spaces’? I would like to take the liberty of reminding you that word of mouth is your best or worst advertising; it can’t be bought, unlike expensive print ads, & it can’t be restricted. Thank you for your courteous attention to my communication, A formerly loyal customer, (name deleted)

Back in July 2015, Macy’s severed its decade-long business relationship with Trump when it stopped selling the President-elect’s menswear collection, following the then-candidate’s discriminatory remarks about Mexican illegal immigrants in his campaign speech.

Now, more than a year later, the President-elect’s followers are claiming responsibility for Macy’s plummeting stock and thousands of job losses. And they’re doing so — where else? — on Twitter, many using the hashtag #DumpMacys.

Last month, as its stock continues to plummet, Macy’s announced that it was closing 100 of its current 730 stores and laying off 10,100 employees.
