Obama Bragged About Success in Yemen in September; Al Qaeda in Yemen Claims They Directed France Attacks

So our strategy in Iraq and Syria is going to replicate “one that we have successfully pursued in Yemen and Somalia for years”? According to the president, Yemen and Somalia are examples of success? I’m no expert on either place, but I have the impression both are in pretty bad shape, have probably been getting worse, and that our government is pretty worried about the export of terrorism near and far from both. I suspect that others more expert than I could even find recent testimony by senior administration officials and other experts on Yemen and Somalia that would highlight how bizarre it is for the president to hold them up as aspirational standards for his policy in Iraq and Syria. So this is the way Obama’s foreign policy ends: Promising to create more Yemens and more Somalias.
The guy just staggers around now playing golf and being the bully with his veto threats. Now he’s back on the campaign trail promoting “free” community college. Yay! More hashtag!
Hours after the sieges ended, al-Qaeda’s branch in Yemen said it had directed the Wednesday massacre at the French newspaper Charlie Hebdo. Authorities blamed that attack on Cherif Kouachi, 32, and his older brother Said, 34, who died Friday in the warehouse shootout with police.
Kind of suspected that when one of the Kouachi’s said “Tell the media that this is al-Qaeda in the Yemen.”
#ThanksObama! Keep up the great work.
The leadership of #AQAP directed the operation, and they have chosen their target carefully as a revenge for the honor of Prophet (pbuh)
The target was in France in particular because of its obvious role in the war on Islam and oppressed nations.
The operation was the result of the threat of Sheikh Usama (RA). He warned the West about the consequences of the persistence in the blasphemy against Muslims’ sanctities.
Sheikh Usama (RA) said in his message to the West: If there is no check on the freedom of your words, then let your hearts be open to the freedom of our actions.
