Obama's Abuse of Taxpayers to Buy Voters' Love

Superman was on TV, espousing truth, justice and the American way.  There were also the Lone Ranger and John Wayne touting strong character.  Being an American meant having courage, standing up for what is right, and always trying to do the right thing.  We were the world's good guys.
As a child of the 1960s, I bought it all.  Such standards and virtues were not difficult to believe in, as I saw them exercised daily in my home through my preacher dad.  Not saying that dad walked on water, but for the most part, my four younger siblings and I knew that Dad always strove to do what he thought was right.
Though we are a black family, we were never taught to think of ourselves as victims of anyone or anything.  As a little boy living in the projects of Baltimore, I remember Dad, who worked as a laborer, driving me through wealthy white neighborhoods.  Dad told me that if I got an education and worked hard, I could have a beautiful home and live well.
In the 1950s, Dad was among a handful of blacks who broke the color barrier into the Baltimore Fire Dept.  Despite unfair racist conditions, Dad won Firefighter of the Year two times.  He also earned a college degree part-time and went on to earn a Doctorate in Theology, authoring a book and becoming the pastor of numerous churches for over 50 years.  At 86, Dad is still the part-time pastor of four churches.  Only in America could a mere ditch-digger achieve such success.
So, upon hearing Obama's State of the Union speech, unlike many Americans, I am not seduced by a seemingly compassionate man trying to help the middle class.  Quite the opposite: I am repulsed.
Further attacking achievers, claiming they are not paying their fair share, Obama used his State of the Union to call for hundreds of billions in tax increases.  Over the past six years, Obama and his operatives have successfully created hatred for achievers using clever marketing terms like “income inequality” and “white privilege.”  Duped low-info voters believe they have too little because taxpayers have too much.  Folks, this whiny, weak, metrosexual victim mindset is not the character of my America.
The Beatles song lyric says “money can't buy me love.”  Obama believes that money can buy him love – and if not real love, then at least new Democratic Party voters.  It seems as though almost daily, Obama unveils another new, expensive government freebie program.  King Obama recently decreed free college tuition to attract youths.  And how does his majesty plan to fund his Democrat voter recruitment giveaways?  By confiscating an even greater amount of the earnings of his highly taxed supplicants.  Seducing and addicting Americans to government dependency is a sure way to recruit voters, thus broadening the Democrats' base.
My wife said that with the GOP running the House and Senate, and if we win the White House in 2016, Obama's massive entitlements should be easily repealed.  I told her it will take extremely strong leadership to pull that off.  As with all junkies, the pushback from government handout junkies with the MSM on their side will be huge.
Beyond the politics, what I find so repulsive about Obama is his insidious tactic of constantly appealing to our base instincts – relentlessly chipping away at our character, our cultural and moral fiber, destroying what it means to be an American.  Obama encourages Americans to find their nipple on the government and feed, marketing it with MSM support as fairness and social justice.
Under Obama, 92 million Americans are unemployed and still living comfortably.  So why seriously pursue a job?  With 47 million Americans on food stamps, the Obama administration aggressively encourages more to apply.  Disability fraud is an epidemic.  Seems a lot of folks have embraced Obama's message: government dependency is not only the “in” thing to do, but the moral thing to do.
In Obama's America, hard work and independence are demonized.  This is at the root of Obama's “you didn't build that” dig at small business.  Obama's and the Democrats' Occupy Wall Street faux movement was nothing more than their campaign to gin up class envy and hatred for the rich and taxpayers.
Few folks know that the Obama administration used a soap opera targeting Hispanics to persuade them to apply for welfare, claiming it is the honorable thing to do.
And look whom Obama and company holds up to black youths as heroes: thugs Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown.  Meanwhile, liberals on Obama's side of the political aisle accused Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson of not being “black enough” (betraying his race).  Wilson's crime is dressing and speaking well, which causes him to appear in too many commercials.  Perhaps if Wilson was well-versed in the usages of “you be” and “we be” and wore his pants below his butt, he would be deemed authentically black, a true blue brother
Obama cavalierly granting amnesty to five million illegals is yet another example of Obama lowering the bar, diminishing the extraordinary value of U.S. citizenship and what it means to be an American.
In Obama's America, no one aspires to be Superman, the Lone Ranger, or John Wayne.  Anyone daring to suggest higher standards, principles, and values is deemed insensitive, racist, judgmental, and intolerant.  This is my biggest beef with Obama: undermining what it means to be an American.  A reprehensible legacy.
When we were kids, a nearby house caught fire.  My three younger brothers and I chased after our off-duty Baltimore City firefighter dad.  Ordering us to halt, he kicked in the front door and dashed into the smoke-filled house.  Jerry, David, Allen, and I thought our dad was Superman.
I will end with this video of me performing my song, “We Are Americans.”  Admittedly, it is a bit corny.  But that is who I am: an old-fashioned, America-loving corny kind of guy.  Enjoy!
