Democrats Backing Away From ObamaCare

Despite the fact that Obama Care has been terribly unpopular, even Democratic support is now beginning to wane. The number of Democrats who now support the \initiative has reached record low levels.
According to a recent poll from the Washington Post, only 58% of Democrats support Obama Care. The paper also noted that this is the lowest level of Democratic support for the bill since it actually passed. It is quite interesting that even a liberal bastion like the Washington Post is finally coming out and making these observations. When things like this occur it is because the situation is so obvious that the paper thinks they will look like fools if they continue to make no mention of the facts.
If we take a closer look at this poll, there are some even more troubling numbers for Obama. Among all Americans, only 42% actually support the law. At the same time, 49% oppose the Obama Care law. Not surprisingly given these numbers, a majority of Americans (51% to be exact) do support the postponement of the employer mandate for a full year.
This employer mandate will have devastating effects on the workforce of the country once it does ultimately go into effect. The mandate itself will force every business with more than 50 full-time employees to either offer a health insurance plan (Cadillac plan) or pay a fine of $2000 for each employee. What will likely happen is that some employees will either face layoffs or, more likely, work hours will be cut to under 30. Full-time employees are defined by this law as those working 30 or more hours each week.
We have even seen labor unions starting to wake up in recent weeks. They are finally starting to crawl out from under their rocks and indicate how bad Obama Care will be for their workers. They are also realizing just how much of a ride they were taken for when going along with the Democrat agenda. The entire bill was passed using nothing more than procedural tricks on a purely partisan vote because every sane person in the country knew that it was a bad bill. Sadly, most of the Democratic allies did not bother to listen to anything said by the opponents of the bill; nor did they read any part of the legislation.
The really sad part of all this? Is that now we have to clean up the mess of those who just blindly went along with the buffoonery. At least there are some reasonable Democrats who appear to be waking up from their slumber and may work together to finally repeal this law.
