Somebody had to say it.
This morning on This Week With George The Greek, Rep. Louie Gohmert flat-out said that President Obama lied about ObamaCare at his press conference on Friday. Oddly enough, nobody else on the panel seemed to object. Perhaps because they all knew that President Obama did, in fact, lie at his press conference on Friday.
The subject was ObamaCare. The former Bill Clinton spokesman who, oddly enough, now works for ABC News brought up the subject of ObamaCare and the possibility of a government shut-down. He played the sound-on-tape of the President saying that the Republicans want deprive 30 million people of health insurance. When the clip was ended, George (Stephanopoulos) asked George (Will) a question.
Rep. Gohmert interrupted before the question could even be answered. “Wait, that’s a false narrative,” said Gohmert, answering what the President just said on tape. “He said we’re trying to keep people from having health care. That’s just not true. That is an absolute, blatant lie.” “We are not trying to keep anybody from getting health care,” Gohmert continued. “And whether or not they have insurance under an exchange or not does not prevent people from getting health care.”
His Democratic counterpart, Rep. Joaquin Castro, was asked to answer what Rep. Gohmert had just stated. Instead of taking issue with the fact that Gohmert called the President a liar, Castro just rattled off tired, discredited talking points about how ObamaCare is helping people.
Of course, if ObamaCare is helping people, then why are people who initially supported it now running away from it?
