Pat Quinn Liberal Stupidity Alert!

Quinn tells Boehner to ‘knock it off’ and end federal shutdown, warns of more layoffs if impasse continues

SPRINGFIELD-Gov. Pat Quinn Monday sent a letter to U.S. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and members of Illinois’ congressional delegation, urging them to end the shutdown of the federal government and warning “hundreds more” public workers could be laid off by the state if the impasse continues.
“This dysfunction is bad for our state and our economy,” the governor wrote. “The common good of 13 million people in Illinois is at stake.”
Last week, the Quinn administration laid off roughly 100 federally-funded employees in the state Departments of Employment Security, Military Affairs and Labor.
On Monday, Quinn said more “hundreds more” layoffs could target “workplace safety inspectors and human services employees who help our most vulnerable citizens, including those with disabilities” within the next few days.
“This is really a severe blow to the Illinois economy so we want to tell Speaker Boehner and all of those who support him to stop it, cut it out, knock it off, open up the government,” Quinn told reporters at the Thompson Center.
“That’s what the people want. It’s our government. It belongs to the every day of people of America, and it’s high time they end the nonsense in Washington and get some common sense,” the governor said.
