The brazenness of this president when dealing with the people is truly jaw-dropping. Acting more and more as an out-of-touch monarch or dictator, President Obama has viciously attacked any and all who oppose his regime’s policies. Those who defy him are labeled anarchists, terrorists and hostage-takers.
But now, as Americans search for answers on how to remedy the colossal failures of government, King Barack has demanded ransom in exchange for not raising the debt ceiling.
It is simply unbelievable.

As Republicans continue to try and negotiate with the Democrats and the White House, the president sat down on Monday with leaders and Democrats are now claiming that they will not pass a “clean” short-term debt ceiling hike to allow for further time to negotiate a way to avoid the debt ceiling deadline- that is, unless the Republicans agree to reverse the sequester cuts of 2011.
The only thing missing from this shake-down is a computer-altered voice on the other end of a phone call that insists, “I will crash your economy unless my demands are met.”
The president continues to assert that he “will not pay a ransom for Congress reopening the government and raising the debt limit.” However, the president is demanding a ransom of $1.1 trillion.
It is important to remember, though, that the sequester cuts in the 2011 Budget Control Act were cuts created as a palfrey consolation prize for Republicans so that Democrats could, once again, raise the debt ceiling.
It’s also important to note that the reason we are in danger of bumping up against the debt ceiling is because government has a serious spending problem. To avoid continually passing the debt ceiling, the government must fundamentally change the way is spends. Period. At a time when lawmakers should be frantically slashing the budget to slow the growth of our national debt, the solution pushed by this administration as well as leading Democrats seems to be to reverse previous modest spending cuts to allow increased government spending.
America is deeply embroiled in a bitter feud over the continuing resolution that the House passed that refused to fund Obamacare- the disastrous fiscal trainwreck that will hobble the economy.
Throughout all of the inflammatory rhetoric, the President and his fellow Democrats have repeatedly announced that they will not back down, that Obamacare is “the law of the land.” This ironclad “law of the land” has been tinkered with over and over again by Obama, but still, he maintains that we need to respect the existing policies.
But where is this respect for the sequester cuts which are, in fact, existing policies? The sequester cuts are said and done; they are the law of the land. Of course, all policies and laws are subject to further considerations. Obamacare and the sequester cuts are both fair game. It is, however, outrageous that the president would posture as if Obamacare is sacred and untouchable, but other policies are open to being used as leverage for extortion.
This level of “negotiation” and rhetoric makes it crystal clear that this administration is no longer even pretending to serve the people; the people and this administration are adversaries. We must stand up to this kind of extortion and demand that Republicans stand strong against this blatant abuse.
