Majority Say Obama Administration Is Incompetent and Obama Is Not Even Paying Attention

A clear majority of the American people say that the Obama administration is not competent to manage the affairs of the U.S. government, according to a Quinnipiac pollreleased Wednesday.
Those who believe the Obama administration is incompetent weigh in at a clip of 53-42 – a margin of 11 points. In addition, more people believe that the president is not even paying attention to what’s going on than the contrary: 47-45. (That may be because the president finds out about all those “phony scandals” by reading about them in the news.)
The president gets a negative score on a number of policies, but gets a pass for his handling of the war on terror:
  • Negative 39-56 for his handling of the economy
  • Negative 36-59 for his handling of healthcare (read: ObamaCare)
  • Negative 40-49 for his foreign policy
  • Negative 39-47 on his dealing with Iran
  • Positive 48-41 for handing of terrorism
Ironically, the president ran originally on “hope and change” and then went beyond the Bush policies from before; including signing the Patriot Act by auto-pen twice; presiding over 73% of troop fatalities in the War on Afghanistan; carrying out drone bombings overseas – with innocent civilian casualties; and leading an invasion of Libya without Congressional authorization.
No wonder Obama didn’t want to label Benghazi a “terrorist attack” until the shock of the event wore off – he didn’t want to lose credibility. And after bragging at his DNC speech that al Qaeda was “on the run,” it is now in control of more terrain than ever before.
On the economy, many are touting the drop in the unemployment rate to 6.7% as a sign of things rebounding, but this number hides that fact that the percentage of Americans working has dropped to the same level as the Jimmy Carter era. And with this smaller labor force, the Obama administration keeps on increasing burdens – adding $7 trillion in national debt over five years.
While the president continues to believe he is being disrespected, and that part of his disapproval is coming from racists, the fact of the matter is that he was overwhelmingly given the benefit of the doubt by the American people; it’s just that his left-wing policies have been a miserable failure.
When Obama took office, he had a dazzling 67 percent approval to only 13 percent disapproval. Only one in five disapproved of the president and most of that can be chalked up to natural ideological differences and the fact that he belongs to a different political party. Now, after he won his second election, he has a dismal 40% approval and 52% disapproval. Results matter.
This cannot be emphasized strongly enough: the American people are not “racists.” They are good and decent people who have lost their patience with the Obama administration’s blame games, lack of accountability, and ruinous policies. You can only pin all the nation’s problems as the fault of a long out-of-power party for so many years before people grow tired of it. You can only smear your opponents with baseless charges for so long before people wise up and realize they’re being played.
