Bodycam Shows Black Milwaukee Officer Shot Suspect, Sylville Smith, Who Was Raising Gun

So by the looks of this the Dumbass raised a gun to the officer and refused to submit to the Officers request. No argument here. Cop did the right thing. I'm glad to see the officer go home after work

Bodycam Shows Black Milwaukee Officer Shot Suspect, Sylville Smith, Who Was Raising Gun.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – An officer-involved shooting on Saturday afternoon prompted a massive riot in Milwaukee. Word about the shooting quickly spread on social media about a white officer who shot a black man in the back while running away. It is no surprise that the information that was spread by agitators on social media was entirely false.
The officer involved in the shooting was a black police officer, and he had his body camera on at the time of the shooting. The suspect, Sylville Smith, 23, was indeed black, but he wasn’t shot while just running away.
After reviewing the shooting footage, Milwaukee Chief Edward Flynn said, “The individual did turn toward the officer with a firearm in his hand.” Chief Flynn added that Smith was “raising up with” the gun at the time that he was shot by the officer.
The initial stop occurred at around 3:30 PM on Saturday when Milwaukee police officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. After the car stopped, at least two of the vehicle’s occupants, including Smith, fled on foot.
An unidentified 24-year-old black male officer chased after Smith. During the chase, Smith pulled out a stolen pistol that was fully loaded with stolen ammunition, and Smith raised the pistol to the officer. The officer ordered Smith to drop the gun and shot when he did not comply.
There is no audio on the body camera footage because there is a 30 second audio delay on the body camera.
The shooting prompted Black Lives Matter “activists” to start rioting.
During the riots, multiple buildings were set on fire, shots were fired at police and firefighters, bricks were thrown at officers and patrol cars, at least two patrol cars were set on fire, and an officer was hit over the head with a brick. A gas station was set on fire during the riot, and firefighters were unable to respond due to shots being fired at first responders.
Three police officers were hospitalized after being attacked during the riots. One officer was a female officer who sustained a concussion and needed to get stitches after she was struck in the head with a brick.
The city’s ShotSpotter system reported 48 instances of gunfire during the riots.
Sylville Smith had a long criminal history which included reckless endangerment stemming from a shooting and witness intimidation in 2015. Those charges against Smith were later dismissed, despite the prosecutors having recorded audio where Smith told his girlfriend to pressure a witness of the shooting to recant. The failure to prosecute Smith left him on the street to victimize more people.
The information about the body camera footage and the officer’s race will unlikely have any impact Black Lives Matter rioters. Historically, Black Lives Matter doubles-down when they are wrong, rather than backing off. However, we trust that our heroes in blue will hold the line against these rioters and they won’t again be allowed to gain a foothold again tonight.
