Michael Phelps Urged To Give Up Position As Olympic Flag Bearer to a Muslim

Micheal earned the respect and honor by what he accomplished. The Idiots on the left are losing it. No morals, dignity or honor any more. 

                          

They have politicized the Olympics with the “refugee” team. Now they want a Trump-bashing Muslim to be our flag-bearer. Why should she be our flag bearer? Because she’s Muslim, of course.

It’s George Orwell on steroids.  We are witnessing mass slaughter on an unfathomable scale in the cause of Allah, but we are never allowed to identify the attackers as Muslim, even as they scream, “Allahu akbar” and decry the “infidel” and “kuffar.” But we must laud  and award them for being Muslims when they are not waging jihad.

This particular athlete has not won a gold medal, has not done anything every other Olympic contender has done, but we must bow and scrape because she is Muslim. The only reason Ibtihaj Muhammad, a “Muslim woman famous for wearing her hijab during her fencing matches,” came in a close second behind Phelps as the choice for flag bearer is because she is Muslim. Hers is no extraordinary achievement, except to further impose Islam on the secular marketplace. Ibtihaj Muhammad has taken Muhammad’s command to spread Islam by the sword takes on a whole new meaning here.

So now we must identify a Muslim and dole out plaudits and praise because they aren’t killing anyone.

Michael Phelps is one of the greatest athletes of all time. If accomplishment doesn’t matter, what’s the point of the Olympics, anyway?

Leading up to the 2016 Rio Olympics, swimmer Michael Phelps was elected by his teammates to be the flag bearer during the event’s highly anticipated Opening Ceremony. As the most decorated athlete in Olympic history, Phelps seemed to many like an obvious choice to carry Old Glory.

“I’m honored to be chosen, proud to represent the U.S., and humbled by the significance of carrying the flag and all it stands for,” Phelps said.

Despite being the pick of his fellow teammates, some are calling on Phelps to give up the honor and instead allow the runner-up to carry the flag.

Ibtihaj Muhammad, an African American Muslim woman famous for wearing her hijab during her fencing matches, came in a close second behind Phelps as the choice for flag bearer. Muhammad has also been outspoken against Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump. “When you incite hateful speech and rhetoric like that, the people who say it never think about the repercussions and how that affects Muslims,” she told Time.

Multiple news outlets have run pieces from those calling on Phelps to withdraw from the position.

W. Kamau Bell, in op-ed for CNN addressed to Phelps, argued Muhammad, as a Muslim, would be a better choice than Phelps, a “tall, successful, rich white guy.”
