So many good points here!
On Jan. 7, Rush Limbaugh called President Barack Obama an “absolute economic idiot” during his nationally syndicated radio show.
Limbaugh was referring to comments President Obama made that morning in regards to the Senate approval to extended unemployment benefits. At the end of 2013, Republicans in the House voted to suspend long-term unemployment benefits to 1.3 million Americans, saving taxpayers a whopping $6.4 billion.
Predictably, Obama campaigned to reinstate those benefits, which passed earlier today in the Senate.
But Obama’s vote following the speech was less-than-logical, as he proclaimed, “Voting for unemploymentinsurance helps people and creates jobs and voting against it does not.”
Wait a minute, providing unemployed Americans MORE welfare creates jobs? In what world does that happen, President Obama?
Limbaugh reamed Obama for his ridiculous statement. “The president just said that unemployment benefits actually create new jobs. Now stop and think about that for a second,” Limbaugh asked. “Unemployment benefits create new jobs? What is unemployment insurance? It is paying people not to work.”
In addition to Obama’s stupidity, Limbaugh pointed out that Obama continues to “[tout] the benefits of unemployment insurance…I thought we had this great economic recovery going because of him…because of his astute, brilliant policies.”
Obviously, that was just another lie.
