New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has been in the news of late for his inept mishandling of the deaths of two NYPD officers, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, but that is the tip of the iceberg.
Judicial Watch has uncovered documents that show de Blasio was an ardent supporter of the brutal communist Sandinista regime, even going so far as to travel to the country’s capital, Managua, to provide aid.
Upon his return to New York, de Blasio joined the Nicaragua Solidarity Network of Greater New York (NSN).
According to their own records, the aim of the NSN was to, “…support the Sandinista Revolution and to protest U.S. support of the counter-revolutionary military movement, aka the Contras, who also killed civilian supporters of the revolution, targeting medical and educational personnel in particular.”
It’s no wonder that Bill de Blasio has tried to keep this under wraps.
Yet when confronted with the truth, Mayor de Blasio is unapologetic for supporting one of the most ruthless and brutal Marxist political movements, responsible for the deaths and disappearances of thousands of people.
“By 1983 there were about 20,000 political prisoners held in the Marxist regime’s jails,” said the Judicial Watch report. “The highest number of political prisoners of any nation in the hemisphere with the exception of Fidel Castro’s communist Cuba.”
Strange how Democrats like de Blasio and Obama feel it’s ok to have normal relations with human rights violators, Nicaragua and Cuba, yet are adamant on setting free radical Islamic terrorists from our prison at Guantanamo.
