Instead of worry about that, the media has chosen to focus on a microscopic number of instances where Trump supporters allegedly have been targeting minorities with anger. Don’t forget that several of these “hate crimes” have been hoaxes and several of them have been total non-stories.
If CBS was so worried about those isolated incidents you would think they would do everything in their power to stop them.
But yet, they had a clip of Donald Trump from the interview taped on Friday urging people to knock off that behavior.
They didn’t run it though. They held onto the clip for days until the interview aired on Sunday.
CBS News is under fire for holding a videotaped clip from a Friday interview with President-elect Donald Trump urging supporters not to attack minorities until a “60 Minutes” broadcast on Sunday night.
“I am very surprised to hear that. I hate to hear it,” Trump told interviewer Lesley Stall when told of some attacks on minorities that have reportedly occurred since his election Tuesday.
“I am so sorry to hear it and I say stop it,” Trump said before looking directly into the camera. “And I say right to the camera, stop it.”
“60 Minutes” did release quotes from the Friday interview in advance, but only a statement by Trump on the Affordable Care Act.
“We chose to release a quote on the issue that affects the most Americans & that was his statement on Obamacare,” a spokesperson for CBS told CNN Monday.
Kai Ryssdal, host of “Marketplace,” called that reasoning “completely underwhelming.”
CBS withholding the Trump soundbite 48 hours allowed the media to continue selling a false narrative and assigning riot/protest blame toward President-Elect Trump. In essence, David Rhodes was simply helping his brother Ben in the White House.
Another embarrassing display of journalism from the mainstream media.
People are rioting in the streets for almost a week over Donald Trump and CBS withholds a clip of him urging the country to take a deep breath.
Instead, they run a clip of him “backing down” on Obamacare in an attempt to smear him.
