Shawn Custis Arrested in Brutal Millburn Home Invasion

Remember that viral video that showed a home intruder beating the crap out of a mom on the toddler cam? Well, they finally caught him. ~JF



MILLBURN, NJ - According to published reports, 42-year-old Shawn Custis, the suspect named earlier today in the brutal nanny cam home invasion in Millburn, was arrested this evening in Inwood, Manhattan.  Shortly before the arrest, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Millburn Police Chief Gregory G. Weber announced warrants had been issued for his arrest. 
According to the Prosecutor's Office, on June 21, the suspect forcibly entered the woman’s Cypress Street home at approximately 10 a.m., where the mother was with two young children. He assaulted the woman, including throwing her down the basement stairs. A portion of the attack was captured on the family’s home video.
Custis is charged with first degree attempted murder in connection with the June 21 assault on the Millburn mother. He is also charged with first degree robbery, 2nd degree burglary and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The suspect is considered dangerous. Anyone with information is urged to contact 911 or the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-847-7432.
The Honorable Judge Thomas Moore, J.S.C., has set bail at $750,000.
