In the late hours of Friday, just before the Senate began its five-week recess, Majority Leader Harry Reid took a shocking action — one that, at first, sounds like an impossibility, a joke. But it’s not.
The Nevada Democrat, true to his freedom-hating progressive nature, made sure that when the Senate reconvenes, it will take up a constitutional amendment limiting free speech. No kidding, friends, the United States Senate will soon consider whether to amend our Constitution to curtail our free speech rights.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., on Friday scheduled a Sept. 8 procedural vote on a constitutional amendment to limit the amount of money in politics, a shrewd measure designed to curb donations to conservative candidates.Reid filed cloture on a motion to proceed with S.J. Res. 19, which seeks to undo the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United decision that ruled the federal government cannot restrict political contributions fromunions and corporations.
Let’s hope that liberty-loving, freedom-cherising Americans will give their senators an earful during the break, letting them know that Reid and his kind will not take away our precious rights!
